Taelyn Male

Ulverstone Bowls Club

Player Profile

Taelyn Male is a Tasmanian-based bowls player and agronomist who has built a career around his passion for grass, crops and agricultural science. Having started in greenkeeping during his tertiary studies, Taelyn developed a strong interest in how plants grow, how crops are monitored, and how growers can improve crop health and performance.

In his role as an agronomist, Taelyn works closely with farming operations, particularly in cropping, monitoring crops for insects, weeds, fungal disease and other issues before providing practical advice to growers. His pathway into agriculture came naturally through his background in bowls, greenkeeping and science, eventually leading him back to university to study agricultural science.

Balancing full-time work with elite bowls commitments requires strong support and flexibility, and Taelyn credits his employer for helping him manage both. Representing Tasmania in the BPL has been an amazing honour and a humbling experience, allowing him to pursue his passion for bowls while continuing to grow in a career he genuinely loves.
